After School Author Event

Melissa Hart

Avenging the Owl

Monday, June 6, 2016
Grass Roots Books and Music
4:00 pm

Join us for a fun after school activity! Author Melissa Hart will share her new Young Adult (middle school grade level) novel, Avenging the Owl which takes readers on a hero’s journey with 13-year old Solo Hahn. In the midst of a difficult situation, Solo Hahn emerges triumphant just like the movie hero he’s named for. School Library Journal calls Avenging the Owl “a good action adventure story compelling enough for reluctant readers… and fans of books about the great outdoors and the wilderness.”

**This event will feature a reading by the author along with a raptor slide show and owl pellet dissection!

7:00 pm

Inside: One Woman’s Journey Through the Inside Passage is a plucky adventure memoir of the sea and soul told by a woman on a big adventure in a small boat along the coast of western North America. In Spring 2010, with her world scaled down to an 18-foot sea kayak and the 1,200 mile ribbon of water called the Inside Passage, Susan Conrad launched a journey that took her north to Alaska. On the way, she forged friendships, lived her dream, and discovered the depths of her own strength and courage.

*The author will be reading and signing books at this event.
